- Lightning Rod

A lightning rod is a tip at the highest point of a building that directly captures the lightning energy to drive it to ground. It is an external equipment to protect against direct lightning strokes.

The function of a lightning arrester is to prevent the spread of the power surge that could be conveyed through internal networks to the building. Installation of lightning arresters generally includes:
- Surge arresters placed at the arrival of each network,
- Surge protectors located closer to sensitive equipment: their function is to protect against residual overvoltage.
